Travel to ISER / Belfast
For people also attending ISER, we have arranged a bus that will leave from Killarney on Saturday (Sept. 08) and will drive directly to the ISER venue in Belfast. Seats are available on a 'first come, first served' basis. Interested people should contact Christian Grimm for signing up. Note: seats are only secured after payment of €50 per person has been received at the meeting registration desk in cash (sorry, no credit cards accepted).
The XVIIIth International Symposium on Retinal Degeneration (RD2018) will be held in the beautiful town of Killarney. All attendees will be housed in the marvelous Victorian hotel, Great Southern Killarney (formerly The Malton Hotel), in downtown Killarney, just opposite of the railway station. The Great Southern not only has unique rooms, exceptionally good food< and a very friendly staff, it also has a spacious conference center with comfortable seating, up-to-date audio-visual equipment and sufficient space for poster sessions.
As in past meetings, the program will focus on age-related macular degeneration and inherited retinal degenerations with several keynote lectures, three full days of oral presentations, three evening poster sessions, a full day excursion and a gala dinner to round off the meeting in a social setting.
We are actively raising money to support travel awards for competitive students, postdocs, and young faculty. We hope to be able to fully support attendance of up to 40 awardees, which will be chosen according to their submitted scientific abstracts by a dedicated Travel Awards committee. Women and underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply for Travel Awards and to attend the meeting.

We are excited about the RD2018 meeting and very much look forward to welcoming you at The Malton in Killarney.
